Reading begins with these books. Each Hanson Reading book are purposely authored to relate to children and provide a consistent, orderly reading practice. These 32 page books "READ & SEE" method. Every page has an illustration, but the picture is on odd page. The sentence is repeated under the picture again. This is a quick was to give a reader practice at the words they just read, and also a test to see if their visual memory is developed or not.
Each book in a series is ordered by level of difficulty, adding a few more words to each sentence on a page and longer words. EVERY SINGLE WORD IS DECODABLE with a quick song check. "A with a vowel after says A."
Chart level is determined not by age, but by skill. The Hanson Reading Book Library is organized by Chart Level, the Charts each introduce a new reading skill. Chart 3 is the beginning of reading introducing first the long vowel sounds (using the CODE) and the short vowel sounds (using the CODE part B). Chart 3 C books combine short vowel words and long vowel words in story. Chart 3D introduces 2-Syllable words.
